Yeah it's not my turn or anything, but the Ted Leo board kinda started up a "Best of 2009" mixtape thread that I thought was a good idea. I threw this together for those guys. Now mind you, it's only an hour's worth of work, and I'm sure I left out some real gem's from this past year, but I think this represents the year pretty well: Not much quality music from real/physical releases, but definitely some good stuff that you just had to dig deep for.

It's
hard to pick standouts, obviously because these tracks all made the
"best of" but I'd have to say listen to the Joey Cape/Jon Snodgrass/Chad Rex crew doing Lagwagon's "To All My Friends, Nothington's "Not Looking Down" and DEFINITELY The Sidekicks'
"Weight Of Air" because it's my nominee for best song of the year.
