| I'm actually not feeling this song... for Ted Leo songs, that means I just don't love it. But I truly can't wait for this album because he's been playing 2 batches of new songs that kick ass in their own different ways. If you've heard the San Francisco bootleg from late August, he played a few new new songs (Bottled and Corked, Born Of Despair, Everything Gets Interrupted, Even Heroes, etc.) in addition to a few of his old new songs (The Mighty Sparrow, Last Days, Where Was My Brain?, etc.). I want this album to open with Born Of Despair. | |

| Haha, Pitchfork is accusing Ted Leo of spending too much time listening to The Gaslight Anthem. - Quote :
Matador is offering a song from the new joint for free download, so head on over to Forkcast to hear the chunky, satisfying rocker "Even Heroes Have to Die". From the sound of that one, Leo may have been spending some serious time listening to fellow Jersey natives the Gaslight Anthem. Ted Leo's response: - Quote :
Hey - I got nothing against what I know about The Gaslight Anthem, Pitchfork - fellow Jerseyans, write some good songs, etc. - but doesn't my 20+ years of service in this industry qualify me for a journalistic benefit of the doubt that I'm probably not being influenced by them as I write my... like... 300th song (or that maybe we're both drawing inspiration from a similar pool of even older artists)? I'm just sayin'... And in fairness, I have to even more heartily disagree with @BaltimoreMatt who's straight-up offensive tweet review of the new track: ZOMG NU @tedleo SONG! Imagine John Mellencamp having a jack off party with the Cars. has placed him firmly in the "you are dead to me" list I secretly have going over at my own Twitter account (@tedleo, not surprisingly).

| Pitchfork has always been critical of Ted Leo for some reason. It's annoying. I don't think I've ever really agreed with Pitchfork about any of their observations. | |

| Another new song for free here: http://betterpropaganda.com/album_page.aspx?id=3188
I like it okay. I haven't heard enough to really judge.
Supposedly the album has leaked but I'm not really the leak downloading type.

| I'm the opposite... I can't seem to hold myself back when new music becomes available.
Yeah the album did leak, and I'm not disappointed or anything (it seriously rocks), but I've gotten so used to the live bootleg versions of the songs that the album just sounded different. There were only two songs on the album that I wasn't already familiar with... and they're great, but the production on the other songs just sounds so clean compared to what I'm used to.
I guess this shows how Gaslight thinks... they know music is recorded and bootlegged at shows, as I'm sure Ted does too, but Ted doesn't like to hold back. He puts his most well-received songs on the album, while Gaslight keeps everything secret so the album is full of completely new material. I guess there are advantages to both methods, but I'm thinking I'm gonna be into Gaslight's album more when it comes out.
We always have Ted's bonus EP to look forward to. I'm pretty sure it will be composed of completely new songs.

| I finally heard the album and I like it quite a bit. I love the fact that this one is more hardcore influenced and at the same time, it seems to be more experimental than his past albums.
There are still a few clunkers in there, but I think there are also going to be some of my favorite Ted Leo songs in the mix.

| i think my favorite Ted Leo/RX album is still "Shake The Sheets" (although i've yet to check out "Tyranny of Distance", which seems to be a popular choice as well), but i'm totally digging the new album, lots of good stuff. if anybody's interested in building their collection, here's a whole bunch of TL/RX covers for download that i stumbled across. haven't listened to many yet, but way stoked. | |

| I think that's the collection I compiled for the TLRX fanboard for Christmas 2008. There was a thread where we tried to list all the cover songs he did, but it was so disorganized. I was bored over Winter break, so I just went crazy tracking these cover songs down. I got 50! So I batched that up and threw it on Rapidshare

If memory serves, the track listing and information is in the third file.
I might have to update this project because he's recorded a LOT more in just a year and a half.

| I got his cover of "So It Goes" by Nick Lowe off of Twitter awhile ago. I think he had some other Twitter ones you could add.
But that Nick Lowe song is like the perfect pop song I think.
Downloading that comp now...

| Wow, I was expecting all live tracks but a lot of these are really good quality. Obviously I'm on the first disc labeled "albums" but yeah. I was surprised. | |

| Probably Shake the Sheets, although Tyranny of Distance is my favorite. Really can't go wrong with anything except "tej leo ??" or whatever the heck it's called. It's not really a Pharmacists album anyways, even though it has that name on it. It's just weird dub songs. | |
