Lynch said anybody who had made one should just go ahead and post it up so here it is, complete with album artwork.

I guess I'll just post my tape 20091117-cmbtsdxpdmpn9cxhfda6eqpbp2

Download: http://www.mediafire.com/?dmn3fizk2w5

The tracklist isn't exactly in this order...it's mostly alphabetical but a few tracks got mixed up in the actual mix.

Artist - Song

1. Big Audio Dynamite - E=MC2

B.A.D. is the underrated solo project from Mick Jones (The Clash) and this is one of their better songs. They use lots of samples, and it's really quite cool.

2. Blitzen Trapper - Gold for Bread

It's like Bob Dylan and Neil Young mixed with bits of electronica.

3. Blue Swerver - Zinedine Zidane

This whole album is so chill. It's like jazz and electronica combined, great stuff. Free legal download: http://www.jamendo.com/en/album/29457

4. The Clash - Somebody Got Murdered

Pulled this off of a bootleg from 1981. Just shows how electric they were. I listen to live Clash more than studio albums anymore. When Joe comes in one the vocals...it's just amazing. Sony needs to get off their butts and release this in better quality.

5. Defiance, Ohio - Calling Old Friends

Love this song, good band too. I think a lot of people here know the band but if not, go get their albums, they're free.

6. A Drum and An Open Window - There Will Be Fields For Us

This may be my favorite song of all time. I'll let it speak for itself. These guys instantly make me happy.

7. Dustin and the Furniture - Myspace Comments Won't Save You

So true.

8. Dustin and the Furniture - Rap Song

Had to include two songs by Dustin. This one is so much fun.

9. G. Love & Special Sauce - Rainbow

Great band, put on a good live show. This is off of a live EP.

10. Kelly Latimore - Yellow Throated Warbler

This guy makes beautiful music. You'll like it if you like Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver etc. Go download all his albums legally here: http://cllct.com/art/kellylatimore

11. Les McCann & Eddie Harris - Compared to What

Great live track off of my favorite jazz album ever, Swiss Movement.

12. Neil Young - Birds

Awesome acoustic guitar version of Birds. This is from a live recording, years before the song was done on piano on After the Goldrush.

13. Ozomatli - O Le Le

One of my favorite bands ever. The first album especially. Chali 2na and Cut Chemist from Jurassic 5 backed by a great Latin band, complete with a horn section.

14. The Smiths - What Difference Does It Make?

My favorite Smiths tune. It rocks.

15. Steve Forbert - Grand Central Station, March 18, 1977

They called this guy the next Dylan. He wasn't. But the songs are still great.

16. Stiff Little Fingers - You Can't Say Crap on the Radio

Brilliant song about a real event. SLF were doing an interview and called something "crap". During break, the broadcaster asked them not to use that word, so in the next segment, they used the word "shite" instead and were asked to leave.

17. Talking Heads - Life During Wartime

This is the version from Stop Making Sense. The best Talking Heads song in my opinion...

18. Ted Leo and the Pharmacists - A Bottle of Buckie

My favorite Ted Leo tune. Love the guitar and tin whistle.

19. Truckstop Honeymoon - Johnny & June

Possibly the best thing Kansas has to offer. It's country but good. This band is the real deal.

20. U2 - Seconds

This track is for anyone who doubts that U2 was once one of the most exciting bands in the world.

But the live version from "Under A Blood Red Sky" is better than the album version, IMO.

I also agree with you on the Life During Wartime thing.

Nice mix of new and old. I'll have to give this one a full listen based on your inclusion of Ted Leo and BAD

Last year he canceled a big portion of his tour because Jodi VB, his wife, was sick. I don't think anything official has been come out to the public, but it seems like she has one of those very very bad diseases.

Anyway I got this mixtape. Really digging it so far man. Thanks!

Oh, thanks for the info. I figured with Ted it had to be a good reason for him not to play a show.

Enjoy the tunes!

I haven't downloaded any of the mixtapes in a long time (just being lazy, no real reason) but I think now is the time to get back into them!

This tape looks great and the art is really cool

Big love for G.Love! Whats the name of the love LP I need to check this as I only have the first album and Lemonade.

Killer bands. Been a massive Ozomatli fan for ages yet none of my friends dig them! Great grooves. 100% backed on the first album being awesome. Truly exciting band who I am yet to see live. I missed them the one year I couldn't go to my regular music festival in the summer.

The live EP is called "Solutions". It's 2 live G. Love tracks and 2 tracks from the John Butler Trio. I'm not sure how you can get it...I got it as a free download for buying concert tickets. I don't know if it's available elsewhere.

But you should check out "A Year and A Night". It's a documentary about G. Love's tour, with live concert footage, and a bonus disc with live audio.

Ozomatli really caught my attention. Recommend any of their other stuff before I dive blindly into it?

All of their stuff is worthwhile to some extent although I would rank the releases like this (best to worst).

Self-titled
Street Signs
Live at the Fillmore
Coming Up (EP)
Embrace the Chaos
Don't Mess With the Dragon

You can go in that order even if you want, or chronologically. I really didn't like the direction they went with Don't Mess With the Dragon although it's still got some good tunes. It was just more of their attempt to get on the radio.

Chali 2na has been doing shows with them again though and is supposedly on board for their next album to be released 2010, so I'm excited.

Here's a some good videos to watch if you like:
