Gin Blossoms

where have these guys been all my life? just took their album "New Miserable Experience" off my friend's iPod after seeing a Youtube comment comparing Gaslight to them. brilliant. every track is awesome. great lyrics, vocals, hooks, guitars, the whole nine. they remind me a lot of The Replacements, "Pleased To Meet Me"-era, with maybe just a little less aggression

anyway, any fans here? if you haven't heard of them, definitely check them out. just good, straight up rock 'n' roll

I've heard plenty of their songs but I always kind of though they seemed rather generic radio rock, but I was never listening closely.

Went through a strong gin blossoms phase in 93/94.. That cd is solid from beg to end. No doubt. Very catchy. Good call. I'm listening to it tonite, just for that.

of course ive heard of em, theyre a hometown band! i like some of their songs a lot, some of it not so much. i wouldnt put them on par with gaslight or the replacements, but still. "hey jealousy" is so catchy but so good.

Love them!!! My dad used to play their songs on his acoustic in my basement all the time when I was a little kid.

Loved those guys when I was a kid. I still have a big soft spot for them, as well as a lot of rock that was on the radio at that time. I spent a lot of time in the car to visit my mom in the hospital so I have a lot of emotion tied to certain bands from the early/mid 90s.

I like the Ergs' version of Hey Jealousy more. Not bad though.

The Gin Blossoms are pretty cool, they remind me of the goo goo dolls more then gaslight though.

GB and GGD are two bands that I see as total equals. Not because they sound exactly the same, but they're from the same era; both so definitively 90's rock. I love it.

I love 90's rock to, it's just something about it. It feels current and nostalgic at the same time.

Every cover band I've heard in bars has a Gin Blossoms song in their setlist. Hey Jealousy is huge. They do have a Replacements feel to them, I guess. But yeah, not a lot of their stuff jumps out and grabs me, but I certainly have moments where it sounds amazing. Them and the Counting Crows. Maybe it's radio rock, but it's good.
