I'm so stoked I can't stand it! Anyone else coming? First time at Bogarts... interested to see if they fill the place... It is huge!

No reviews from last night in Cinci yet? I'm eager to compare notes from the show in Pittsburgh. Anybody checking in?

Sorry I have been without internet since that night.

My take on the show was this

First of all, as I expected when the tour was announced, Bogarts is WAY too big for them at this point, it was only about half full.

Ninja Gun- was great, funny banter in between songs and just a solid band in general

Loved ones- Amazing as always despite the amp issue. Oddly enough one of the first times i saw Gaslight they were supporting loved ones... Dave was doing everything he could to get the crowd moving which worked fairly well despite the fact that most of the people in the crowd did not know who they were. He really pays attention to those who knew the words though... He winked at me and sang looking straight at me... one kid he made clap though an entire song. Benny was on the side of the stage air drumming like crazy through the whole set... great times

MDB- No offense to stephengaf, but I loved them. I'll give you this, they weren't a great "opening band" because they did not resolve a single song and when they finished they left you with that sort of existential, deep, thought-provoking feeling... not the pumped up for gaslight kind of feeling. But they were amazing! Incredibly tight, the music was powerful and translated very well from the record which was my primary concern going into the show.

TGA- ....... Incredible as always. Played Patient, Ferris Wheel. They said it was the first time since they were in Cincinnati for the Rise against tour. They played most of the 59 sound I think.... It's been a while so I am not sure on the set list... I don't remember hearing Casanova, Baby! though for sure. They played BJWT, drive and something else for the encore. Played Angry Johnny, we came to dance (dedicated it to all the bands how have helped them along the way.. BTW there were a ton of people standing around the sides of the stage who looked really familiar but the only one I recognized was the guy from Cincinnati who tours with Against Me! and writes 513 over everything... I cannot remember his name for the life of me right now)

The usual hilarious banter between songs... Very straightforward show though for the most part... no covers (other than stand by me and Jimmy Ruffin they always insert) or new songs or anything to report on really

Bogarts is not WAY too big for them at this point at all. They sold out the Newport Music Hall in Columbus last fall, which is bigger. Bogarts problem is quite simply the place is a run down piece of shit, in an absolutely horrible area and not many people are willing to get down there for shows anymore. It was also on a Wednesday night, not a Friday or Saturday.

I saw Against Me! at Bogarts in March and the crowd was about the same size. It's been awhile since I've been at a concert at Bogarts with a big or even good crowd. The crowds there are always dull and way too small. It was a great show, just a bad venue, but I'm really looking forward to the Columbus show in October.

I agree that it was a wednesday night, which was factored in on saying the venue was way to big. I think Bogarts hold more people than the Newport also. Plus the newport show was only $5 last time.

But perhaps some of the frustration is that I really hated having to go to Bogarts to see them. I hate that place. Would have been much better at southgate.

Agreed, the Columbus show should be better... hopefully no assholes dowsing Brian with water too!

yeah he did, he just closed his eyes and sang the song. When guy did it again security went after him brian watched them and just had this huge smile on his face and started dancing around the stage while playing.

Just found this fan made 'documentary' of the Cincy show. TGA from 3:59 incl. some parking lot signings and 'interviews'.
