My Cover of Blue Jeans & White T Shirts

Hey Everyone,

Im new to the board here, but been a GLA fan for a little over two years. Just caught the free Boston show other than one song , all from 59 sound, the sound was so, so but overall a fun show. Anyways, I write and play music and sometimes, the promoter will be like "can you play for 2 hours?" i can only if i throw covers in too, so i started working up some GLA covers and here is my first attemt, hope i dont look silly.

pretty good cover man. i like your voice a lot. i usually don't like people's voices when the cover TGA songs 'cause they're so far from Brian's voice. nice to hear something different. keep busting out the covers and i'll keep listening

I don't mean to sound like an asshole, but i'm not a fan of your voice. Seems TOO forced. I mean, that's just my opinion, and I am in no means dissing you, just trying to give my honest opinion. Each to thier own and all.

Anyway, keep up with covering The Gaslight Anthem.

unfortunatly i wasnt blessed with a very smooth voice, so what ya here is how i sing, if i was forcing it id, force a better voice. haha

I understand what you are saying, and I am in no means trying to be negative, just that obviously people have different tastes, etc. I mean, pretty much everyone else who has posted in this thread have said they loved your voice. Thier opinion, y'know?

And not saying it is forced, just saying to me it sounds that way, but I like what you are doing with regards to covering Gaslight Anthem songs.

Look, this is a Gaslight Anthem forum, we're all big fans of Brian singing Gaslight songs. It's going to be a lot harder to sell your version of a Gaslight song here because everyone is such a big fan of the real version. It's a lot simpler to sell your version to someone who's never heard of TGA.

I don't expect you all to love my version of Old White Lincoln. Others may, but you guys are a tougher crowd.
