Anyone ever play Monkey Island?

The pirate game that started of as point and click in the early 90s (not that I was very old when it actually came out originally!) and
progressed into 3D.
There were four games but that last one was over 9 years ago.

Now there's a new one.

If anyone has a clue what I'm talking about...

Pirate games I recall playing: Cutthroats, and Sid Meier's Pirates. Will give that one a go when boredom strikes thought.

You should download the two originals, I'm pretty sure they're free on the web someplace.

I remember playing them back in the day. Can't remember much about them, but defiently played some of them, the 3D ones, or ones that were more developed than point+click, I think. All I can recall is that a vodoo doll played some role in the plot of one of the games.


I dunno if I'd like a new one. I imagine if I played a game like that now it'd bore me.

I guess I like to indulge in my nostalgia.

I love Monkey Island! Used to play the second one all the time at my uncles house when I was a kid. Picked up the first 2 in a second hand shop a few years ago, but the discs seem to have disapeared now.
The 4th one, the one that was 3d, was good but not as good as the originals. Still, I'm looking forward to giving the new one a go. It's out next week on PC I think
The remake of the first one is finished last I heard, they're just waiting to release it.

It's out tomorrow to download the first part. It's in five parts.
I'm going to try it on Wii. I don't have a PC.

Hey Emyr, have you gotten to play it yet? I loved the olden days of LucasArts games, and I'm pumped about this remake! Lemme know how it is.

And Tomaldo, isn't Sid Meier's Pirates friggin' epic? I wasted so many hours playing that game...

Yep Sid Meier's pirates was awesome. Did waste as many hours on that as I have done on the Championship Manager/Football Manager series though... must be about 2 months of my life spent playing those games!

I haven't yet. I'm waiting for it to come out on WiiWare. Although it was supposed to be at the same time. I have a mac so I can't play it on here. :/
