Anyone seen them live? My friends and I saw them on April 27th....we were like 2 feet away from the stage. The music was amazing as always, but the band wasn't all that interactive. My gf who saw them two years earlier said that the earlier concert was much better cause they were more engaging with the crowd.

| That's a shame. Interaction with the crowd makes a gig. | |

I don't know where I'm going with this... I'd just like to see them live. XD Haha, right, I hear ya. It was still a good show, but a friend of my saw them in Austin and was down in the pit. Took pics n everything, and I was so jealous. And at the show I went to, they weren't all that connected to the crowd like you said KHC. It was really more of a show than an intimate concert.

| They were brilliant when I saw them live in March. Going as often as I can to see them whenever they play remotely close to me from now on. I agree about interaction though. khchausk8er I also want a Hot Fuss vinyl, been scouting and tentatively bidding on ebay, going rate is £45-£55. I'll have to save up... but may just pull the trigger and buy one because I only see the price continuing to rise- they're not going to get any smaller. I don't think I'll ever get to see them in a small/medium venue now- unless I win the lottery and hire them to play at my wedding or something. |

Hehe. That'd be some wedding.

| I don't think there are any similarities beyond the odd melody where their voices sound similar . I pray that i never see any of The Gaslight Anthem in a blazer with feathers on the shoulders and im pretty sure i never will. Musically i see the Killers as a pop band that strives for mainstream success and theres nothing wrong with that, on the other hand Gaslight are a completely different type of band , i don't see them having the immediate success that the Killers have had but im certain il like their songs more than i ever like any killers song. | |

| I think the blazer with feathers on the shoulders is cool in a strange way (but it's not Gaslight in the slightest!). But a blazer with feathers on the shoulders is only something a rockstar could get away with- you wouldn't see me walking around town with one on! |

| I like the Killers; the are fun, each album was different; 'When we were young' means quite a bit to me, but they are nothing like TGA if anyone saw their stage set at last year's Brit Awards, you can see why what I love about TGA is that it's just four guys and a few instruments (ok, and a hat) | |

Yeah Killers are the complete opposite end of the spectrum- all the over the top showmanship and glamour is part of their appeal. |

| Just look at their roots! The Killers are from Vegas, TGA is from Jersey. Says a lot right there I think! | |

Good point. Brandon Flowers was born and raised in Utah though- does this state have any reputation for anything? |

| So while the down to earth feel of TGA is one of the reasons I love them so much -- just because the Killer strive to be and are mainstream and popular isn't any reason to dislike them. Good music is good music, regardless of the reasons the music was made. | |

Other than Mormons and salt? Not particularly. I think Flowers is Mormon, actually.

| Likewise.
I used to love them, first 2 albums were brilliant, 3rd was terrible for my liking and saw them live at Reading 2008 and was very dissapointed.
Since then kinda not been into them much.

| Day & Age? I didn't care much for it at first, but it's really grown on me. The songs don't hit me quite as much as some of their others, granted. Still like it though. Also, I loved Tranquilize, off of Sawdust, but I'm not sure if that counts as their 'third' album technically. :\ | |

| Yeah, I liked 2 songs from Day and Age, thats about it, thought the others were awful myself.
Sawdust is a bunch of B-sides and specials so no way their 3rd album, don't see many people calling Shenanigans a Green Day album.
It was mainly 2008 that put me off Killers, I still love Sams Town, but gone off Hot Fuss and after their very non exciting set at Reading and Day and Age don't have the same interest I once did.

| I have a question about The Killers' Mr. Brightside video, theres an older dude in the video, he looks extremely familiar, where would I know him from? | |

| It's Eric Roberts. He's been in a ton of stuff over the years, but you probably recognize him as Maroni in The Dark Knight. | |

| Yeah Brandon Flowers is a Mormon! I think if Day & Age doesn't get your full attention immediately, stick with it. It was the same with me for Sam's Town eventually I realised how insanely good they were/are. I don't think Sawdust counts as the third album, even though there was unreleased material on there- like Leave The Bourbon On The Shelf, the missing part of the 'Murder Trilogy'- there were also Bsides that had been released previosly. |

| I don't think Sawdust counts either, I rarely listen to it cause it's mostly composed of b-sides and bonus tracks from the first two albums...and I'm not really a fan of albums composed of b-sides.
I agree with Tomaldo, you actually gotta stick with it. Nowadays with so many bands, albums, and stuff out there available with a click of a button, I don't think we actually "listen" to the music anymore.

QFT. In our parents day, they had to listen to the whole album even; none of this track skipping. And today we can just fly through whatever doesn't catch our ear right away. Lately, I've been committing to listen to an album at least twice, all the way through, before I write it off. It's really made a difference and I've found some things I really like that I would've overlooked.

| Part of the thing I like about vinyl is it makes you listen to and appreciate whole albums rather than just songs. I agree tdawg as well- need about 5 listens before you can truly say you don't like something, not just one. |
