The '59 Sound Re-release

I've just been surfing HMV.com, and found that the '59 Sound single may be getting re-released, apparently on vinyl and as a CD single, coming out on the 15th June. Here are the links:

Do you think this just a second pressing on vinyl?

I like the idea of a CD single as well...

Seriously considering selling off my collection. This is stupid.

I can understand if you're getting everything they've ever released this can get a bit out of hand. Still, they may be doing it to get more airtime. According to my brother, the '59 Sound was song of the day on XFM today.

The 59 sound single was pressed on what, 500 gold and 2000 black, maybe they're doing some more on black. I hope that's the case at least. They're really milking this band for what it's worth, especially when the band had made comments early on about collections. I mean, realistically, if you're in it this far, it's not been too bad keeping up, but it is getting stupid.
I'm working on getting some info on this, but yeah, interesting. If anyone wants an original 59 sound on gold, I got a couple left I think,.

Yeah, I'm glad a backed off of the collection. I'm still trying to get rid of my green and purple sink or swims, I think I'll take them to the record store and sell em so they can get them in the store.

I'm hoping to just keep my white and blue copies of Sos and 59. Then just hold on to the demos and senors.

I never knew there had been a gold 59 Sound press. I would think it was just a repress rather than another colour then. I'm sure geezfools will find something out!!

300 were released in the US, 200 were released through green hell. The 300 were snagged up super quick, I had to order mine from green hell, not cheap as anyone knows who has ordered from them knows.

I was gonna try to order a record from Greenhell but I can't really understand German and the shipping would have sucked.

geezsfools, please let me know if you still have any of the 59 sound on gold. I'll take one if you do. Or anything else of interest. Thanks.

Got a little bit of info. Hopefully working on pressing info, colors, country of release soon. So yeah, this is real. Possible it could have something to do with the brian fallon split 7" in the works???

Edit: the songs just been on the radio, they said it was being re-released. Then the fill in presenter said he prefered the Holdy Steady. No wonder he's a fill in!!

It was played on XFM Manchester today and it was introduced as their 'new single' from an 'upcoming band'.
They are a bit late on that. They almost completely sold out their February UK and European tour before their passports were even stamped.

That was where I heard it too. They're a bit behind.

Still no word on the specifics of this release, though I'm sure it's at LEAST /500, really hoping side1 will get some copies in if this ends up being ANOTHER euro release.

the b-side is a live cover of Pearl Jam "state of love and trust" - live at Webster Hall NYC

the cd has 2 b-sides, the 3rd track is a live version of "we came to dance".

thats the one coming out june 15th? damn, well, at least they are putting covers and live songs on their singles now, instead of another song off the same record...

also, anyone in the US, vinyl collective will be getting copies in at some point. Not sure if they will do a PO or just wait until they have them, but they should be getting 50-60 copies in.

hopefully i'm around when these go up. i'd much rather give VC the $10 than support some UK store.

We Came to Dance live as a B-side should be good. Anyone know whether its gonna be the same cover art and everything?

The ‘59 Sound – 7″ rereleased


Okay, I have some confirmation on numbers and new info regarding this rereleased 59 sound single. There is a PO up at HMV and I’m sure a few other shops will be getting copies. If you’re in the US, Vinyl Collective says they will be getting 50 or so copies in, so wait on that if you can. Anyways, here is all the info regarding this release. Cover art will be along at some point soon I’m sure….

Can you order stuff from that HMV site and get it shipped to outside the UK? I don't need too, I'm just wondering as I thought it was a UK store?
