| Maybe 'The Clash' as well as/as opposed to Joe Strummer. Miles Davis, Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye, Elvis (see 'Once Upon a Time' especially) Minus the Bear (one Alex, can't remember which) Afghan Whigs, Counting Crows, Pogues (Brian listed them as some of this favourite lyrical albums in an article) I'm sure the list could go on and on. |

| I heard Brian say that in an interview that there wouldn't be The Gaslight Anthem w/out The Replacements. They also covered "Left of the Dial" when I saw them a month or so ago, so definitely an influence. | |
