DimeStore Saints Merger Discussion Thread

Vibes, who owns the Dime Store Saints site, has kindly offered to merge with us should we be interested.

I personally like the idea, but have a few questions.

I have decided to make this a public thread, well, because we are all punks and all and this seems like a fair way to proceed.

1. Financially who is going to be paying for dimestoresaints?

2. Next is material. Is dss just going to redirect here (an idea I really
like as there url is much better than ours) if they are not are we
going to be rebuilding from scratch or is there a way of transfering
all of our messages over there?

Can you answer these questions please vibes?

I don't like the idea of starting from scratch because this place is really cool, really well laid out and has some killer posts. (THE PANTS THREAD).

A re-direction from dimestoresaints.com to here would be pretty cool. And maybe we name the forum Dimestore Saints on the logo or something.

it's a cool idea of linking the 2 sites and changing the name on the logo (i didn't even know about dimestoresaints.com till just now! yoink!) but would be ace if we could keep all our threads and they link to ours maybe? like stalls_standing said about the pants! we don't want to loose that gem! somebody think of the pants!

You should a able to transfer over the database im not clued into these things but it should be more than possible.

I'll shell out the $8 a year for the domain name. That's no problem. I'm working with the guy who runs 18 Miles a Minute to possibly take over that.

I haven't posted content to DimestoreSaints ever so the content thing isn't an issue. All we'd have to do is change the name of this forum.

sound like a good plan, a more simple url and such. possible more members, good times.

speaking of dimestore saints..i was thinking of making that my bands name...

a decent url will get us listed easier in google to I would imagine.

Only 8 bucks is nothing - I can help chip in for a few years or something, I love the url name 'dime store saints' and it will make this forum easier to find and more consolidated - now ... how to change it and not lose any of our data!

the redirect here is the simplest and best way, I like what you have done... finding this forum if you could not remember which order to put big forum pro in took forever!

I do think we should get KTP on doing a new logo/flyer and stickers.

the only thing we have left to do is raise funds to do a google adword program

How's the graphic coming for the header?

it's on its way sorry. hopefully it'll be done this weekend, adam's been a bust bogged down with work this week.
