| Looking more closely at the details for the other event - it appears it is in both rooms (the Grand Ballroom and the Marlin Room), so it's possible they'll open up the Marlin Room first and the Grand Ballroom later? That would allow Gaslight to play a bit past 10. | |

It's better if you stand on the seat, which in my experience, the staff didn't have a problem with. That's not the room Gaslight is playing - that's a picture of the Marlin Room downstairs. Gaslight is playing the Grand Ballroom upstairs. Much bigger room, akin to Irving Plaza.

| I emailed Webster Hall for clarification and set times. Hopefully they respond. It is ridiculous that this is happening. | |

There's nothing ridiculous going on... It makes sense that they'd play the largest room at a venue... They could play a MUCH bigger venue....

By clarification I meant that Gaslight is still going to play a full headlining set. It's ridiculous that they are playing a headlining show with a 10pm curfew and that Webster Hall has some kind of dance party/dj thing at 10. Like the poster above me said, it's not a free show.

| Per their website, it looks like this is something that happens every Thursday. I would imagine they'll start it a little later due to the Gaslight show, but because they moved up the start of the show to 7, you'll probably see
Northcote- 7-730 Scandals - 745-815 Gaslight- 830-10

| There's three levels - a basement (where I believe the Studio is, along with bathrooms and coat check), the first floor (where the Marlin Room is along with the bar), and the upstairs (the Grand Ballroom). | |

| That's the Grand Ballroom. Webster Hall is a dance club also. You'll probably see all the 20something club kids coming in as you leave. It's most likely going to be a shorter set than what you're used to with Gaslight, but they're also playing Terminal 5 on Saturday, so it's not like they're cheating the NYC crowd in that manner. For T5, doors are at 7, show is at 8. Will probably end around 11. Looks like it's sold out though. If you're driving, be aware there was a partial building collapse across the street today. | |

Do you recommend a side? Is upstairs VIP? Appreciate the info.

Though I'm not sure the fact that they are playing a second show (which you would also have to pay for) means you're not "being cheated"

| I haven't actually attempted to go upstairs for a show, but only because I was lucky enough to find a spot downstairs I was ok with. I assume at least a portion of the balcony is VIP (probably one of or both of the sections closer to the stage) cus NYC sucks like that. But I'm not positive!
Sigh. There's nothing I can say to make you feel better about a 90 minute set (even though I've had to settle for shorter sets from headliners) so I'm not gonna bother trying.

| That makes sense! I will try to get there early to figure it out. I think I'm overthinking this. The 90 min stinks, I agree, I am also excited though to see The Scandals so I hope they aren't cut too much, either. | |

| Webster Hall release show for Handwritten was incredible. Have to skip it this round but will be at T5 (which I hate)
Hoping this leg sees the return of Get Hurt songs getting more play

| For anyone that's been to a Gen Admission show at Webster Hall before, what's the balcony situation like? It is hard to get a good view/railing from up there, how long after doors does it take to fill up, etc. | |

| Just a little heads up about Webster Hall. I don't know if they do this for every show, but I learned the hard way that they (at least sometimes) let the line inside about a half hour before the actual door time. However, they don't let you into the actual room with the stage and everything until doors. They just let you into this tiny bar area. So I recommend not wandering away from the line to grab a snack or something, thinking you have at least another 30 minutes to kill.

Hoping they don't need to be done right at 10... That can't be right. There are going to be some seriously upset people if they play an hour set.

| how could Webster Hall book a show at 10pm and have Gaslight end at 10pm? there has to be time allotted for clean-up, prepping the next party. hopefully the show goes for at least 75 minutes. any less would be a sin. i mean seriously, 2 opening bands (no offense to them) but i don't know who they are.
