How To Rip Audio

Can someone post a step by step walkthrough for how to rip audio from the internet... you know, teach a man to fish...

again, Real Player will work for most clips. if it's on youtube, use Free Youtube to mp3 Converter from dvdvideosoft.com. if it's on myspace, use file2hd.com. if neither work (such as a purevolume song), you can manually record it with Audacity

Instructions for file2hd.com: type in myspace address, including http://, click accept terms and conditions, click audio, and you have to actually click Get Files (enter does not work). then right click save as on the files

I use audacity to rip stuff. I set the input source as the wav out mix,
click record in Audacity, and play the song online. When it's done,
just click stop in Audacity and then go to file and export to mp3.

Here's the online tool that I use to rip music off of myspace pages, all you have to do is plug in the myspace url, then you can download the music in mp3 form (They offer the download in a lower quality or the original mp3 uploaded by the band or whoever uploaded). I like it cause you don't have to download any applications.

As a test, I just tried this on the Spiro Angnew page on MySpace, having selected Audio, but it comes up with No Files Found. What am I doing wrong?

Hi, this never happened before when I used it. Either they're updating the site or some agency pretty much shut down the site. Damn, I use this site alot.

The myspace downloads aren't working on that site at the moment. Hopefully it'll be fixed soon!

and you might be able to answer this. what is that song "There's No Such Place As Home" from? is it a new song, or a song on a comp or something? i haven't been able to figure it out

It's just a song. He's not really released anything except for 'Darkened Doors' which was 5 tracks I think. I'm going to bully him into expensive recording next time though cause he has the potential to be big. 'There's No Such Place As Home' is a killer song.

Can someone post info on how to upload a mixtape? I've got mine all together, it's on Itunes, but cant get it to upload to one of those sites, like megaupload.com. Also, they all mention (of course) that you are not allowed to upload things that are copyrighted, so I want to make sure I'm uploading it the correct way and not getting in trouble for uploading music!

Hey guys I'm trying to get a download of Brian's KEXP version of Backseat found here

I think you can use a free recording software such as audacity and switch the recording input to your computer sound cards output and record it like that. Not sure what or if any quality will be lost.

using this method is probably the easiest but there will definitely be some quality lost depending on the source material. for these, the original audio files are only 128kbps mp3s, so any difference is probably negligible.
