| Apparently they are off universal http://www.ozarkecho.com/?p=751 - Quote :
OE: Are you with a new label now that you’re not with Universal? Brian: I don’t know if I’m technically allowed to talk about that, I know we are going to be on a new label. We have a letter of intent of sorts and it’s a newer, bigger indie label and I think it will fit with us and they seem to be real nice. My money is on P+P. They have quietly built themselves up as quite the impressive indie label. There or S1D seems like the obvious fit for Lucero.

| not really surprised that they are no longer on Universal...S1D is a good fit, a lot better fit than P+P...though I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to release it on their own label Liberty & Lament. |

Well the "newer" sorta rules out S1D, or though I guess S1D is newer than say, Epitaph. If S1D is in the picture of "newer" than Vagrant needs to be a possibility as well as its arguably bigger than S1D. Liberty & Lament isn't big enough to be "bigger". P+P seems to be great for bands that just want someone to help put out their vinyl for them, with less focus on the advertising and promoting. As such Lucero seems to fit their bill. But I donno, we'll see. None of P+P, S1D and Vagrant would surprise me.

Maybe it's a bit too old to comment but what the heck. I always imagined he doesn't love her ("I can't feel a thing") but can't answer with that, so instead he answers by showing a tattoo to kind of evade the question.

I thought that it was about a tattoo with her name he is showing. Although their love is waning, he still shows her his old tattoo, although it 'wasn't no answer', but for then it had to do'

Do they have Ted Hutt on as producer again? from the interview I watched, they said he is one of the guys on the list. They are still looking at their options. |

| Discovered these guys 2 weeks ago and I'm really enjoying them. Rebels, Rogues & Sworn Brothers is my favourite album. The later albums remind me of The Hold Steady with a slight country element going on in the background which is what sold me. So far my favourite songs are "Sing Me No Hymns", "Cass" and "Little Silver Heart" | |

| Can't stop listening to "Tears Don't Matter Much" at the moment. I'd quite like their new album to be a bit lower on the production, I agree with what you said about going more Hold Steady direction. Still a great album. | |

| Lucero and Hold Steady I think are kinda tight with each other. Theres this sort of connection of both some of my fave bands/ acts and their connection with THS (Lucero, Frank Turner, Two Cow Garage). Lucero, THS and DBT seem to be often mentioned alongside each other though I don't really see the musical comonality between Lucero and THS on 1372 but kinda can on "Rebels". To me, Lucero are the greasy, southern, alt. universe version of THS if Tad was brought up on Steve Earle, Skynrd, Uncle Tupelo and Neil Young. | |
