In Some Nights I don't hear the hip hop influence, I hear like tribal beats, I think that's what they were going for at least. It's so weird that so many in the punk scene like Fun.

Nate has said in interviews that they were influenced by hip-hop artists.
There's definitely hip-hop influences there! I prefer Aim and Ignite, but Some Nights is still great.

Actually on second listen I agree. But yeah Aim and Ignite is a good album - actually Barlights was my jam on the train to the Convention Center show...haha weird.

Been listening to Keaton Henson lots and lots lately. Are people aware of this guy?
He released his debut a couple of months ago now and it is so beautiful and perfect. The story behind him is quite interesting to, he's a bonafide recluse who never intended for his music to be heard.
For those who don't know him take a listen:

Clarity (I would go as far as saying it's my favourite album of any band), and top song is difficult to choose because I could gladly listen to any of them. I'll go with (in no particular order): A Praise Chorus, Always Be, Lucky Denver Mint, A Sunday, Goodbye Sky Harbor, 23, Hear You Me. This list could easily change at any time.

I'm Not Okay by MCR just came up on shuffle, and suddenly it's 2005 all over again.

that was the first song i heard by them. i remember seeing the 1st version of that video on MTVu in my dorm my freshman year of college (2004) and they became one one of my fav bands. i haven't heard the new album though because they "boycotted" my state, so i don't support them anymore.

So much Plow United....I've seen them twice on their reunion tour thing they've got going on. Just recently I realized that they are the best.

I absolutely love Brian McGee's solo work since seeing him on The Revival Tour. I talked to him at the show, and now we exchange emails every now and then. He is genuinely one of the nicest blokes in music right now, dare I say nicer than Brian Fallon himself. I really dont liek Plow United's music but Brian McGee is quickly becoming one of my heroes.

Yeah! Apparently he is the nicest dude. I've just been listening to their discography on repeat. I'm the opposite of you though. Love Plow and don't really care for the solo stuff or Ex Friends. But the guy is amazingly nice. So stoked on their split with Spraynard in the fall.
