Makes me wonder how much of the votes is gaslight love and how much is Owl City hate. Still nice to see them get some respect, even if the whole thing is a complete farce. (Nickelback is a 1 seed?)

Yeah, any bracket that pits TGA vs Owl City is insane. I happen to like both, but for completely different reasons. Apples and Oranges really.
And I agree, Nickelback? We've had the debate before, and I'm no Nickelback hater, but they don't hold a candle to most on this list.

It's been pretty awesome watching how big gaslight has gotten since The 59' Sound was released, but am I the only one who is upset that they're being listed on this mtv gimmick? (although I admit it's a cool idea). Maybe that's my punk roots coming out but something about it just irks me.

Update 1:by the way, after my 100 votes, TGA is now up by 2%
Update 2:since I can't vote anymore for TGA, I am trying to set up the next round, I am voting for Grizzly Bear. U2 is such a popular band I can't see them losing in the first 3 rounds! What started as 37-63 is now 49-51 (U2 still in the lead... argh)
Update 3:I can vote again! I couldn't vote for an hour and a half. Starting at 53-47 (TGA in the lead)

Why is it cheating? You can vote how many times you want so things like these are bound to happen. If people shouldn't do it then they shouldn't allow the same person to vote twice.

just voted about 20 times and its not moving. owl city is at 51, tga 49

Just some info, so folks understand why The Gaslight Anthem are matched up against Owl City. Basically, brackets are made by taking teams (remember, this is from basketball) and ranking them 1-16, by score. Obviously bands don't have scores, but they must have found some criteria. The higher ranked teams play the lower ranked ones, so 1 plays 16, 2 plays 15, etc. So, really, it's random. Somebody didn't just sit down and say "Gee..." and decided TGA are inherently comparable to Owl City. They've also got The Hold Steady up against Nickleback, so... haha.

Ha ha, I just put 100 votes on, good call on the macro thing. Could be used for all kinds of shenanigans.
