| Just wondering if anyone around here likes these guys. I remember seeing them bring in new years 08/09 and they didn't really stand out.
A couple of months later, I was in a store buying some CD's and one of their songs came out across the store and I instantly remembered who they were even though I had only heard them once live.
So I bought their latest CD and once again I didn't really like it.
Fast forward to the present and on Friday I was in one of mates car and I noticed he had a Black Keys CD.
I said to him 'man, it sucks to be you, you like the black keys, they suck'.
He told me to put the CD and put it to number 2 and it was this song

It doesn't sound anything like their newer stuff and I reckon it's pretty awesome. It's off an EP they did covering Junior Kimbrough's songs.
Great intro, then a really chilled, relaxed track. I was pretty surprised.
It's probably not to everyone's taste around here but I'm just putting it out there.

| I'd never heard of the band until now. I think 'chilled, relaxed track' is probably the best way to describe it. Are these guys Australian? |

| They're actually American, pretty much every live video I've seen of these guys the singer has always said 'we're the black keys and we're from Akron, Ohio'.
I've been doing a bit of reading about these guys and apparently the older work they self produced and the newer work they got someone else to produce it and went into a studio for the first time. Some of the other places they've recorded have been the drummers basement and a rubber factory in their hometown.

| the new album Brothers is really good. i loved Rubber Factory and the Chulahoma EP, but some of the newer albums turned me off a little bit. i think Rubber Factory might still be their best work, but i'd put Brothers right behind it for number 2. currently can't stop listening to "Next Girl". | |

| The Black Keys are a band that I feel like I should love, and I do love certain songs, but I can never get into a whole album. | |

| Pretty pumped for El Camino. If the album is as good as Lonely Boy and Run Right Back, it's gonna whoop some ass. I've only heard Brothers other than the new singles; what are your guys' favorite Black Keys albums? | |
