| My wife and I went to Oxegen, Punchestown, Ireland on Saturday 11th July. We had never been to a festival before but this was our only chance to see the Kings Of leon. We saw TGA for the 1st time on tv at Glastonbury and were delighted to see them on the bill at Oxegen. Our 2 sons (18) and (20) said they had been listening to TGA for over a year now. We were on the front row at their set and they were outstanding. Im sure Brian and the band were surprised to see 2 middle aged people singing along in the pouring rain. Its been a long time since a new band has generated this much excitement for us. | |

| They get that a lot more than you think, parents bringing kids and parents knowing all the words. | |

| Welcome along to the site man!
I was right up at the barrier too, just right of centre. Went along to the band before too just to make sure I got up there. Missed the guys when they played in the Academy so this was my first show and they didn't disappoint at all. My favourite of the weekend followed closely by Fight Like Apes and The Specials.
I know it's always said about them looking delighted to be on stage but the grin on Brian's face the whole way through was unbelievable, especially during American Girl. (Look @ around 20secs on this vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PXsfaH8_JA )
By the way, what did you think of KoL?

| HI
I went to see The Gaslight Anthem at Oxegen, they were one of my main reasons for going to Oxegen (as well as Kings of Leon) and them were brilliant, I had seen them in the Academy earlier in the year and they are brilliant, it is so nice to see a band that really (really) enjoy what they do and are having fun doing it. They were a highlight of oxegen for me and were even better than the Kings (who in my opinion need a bit of a holiday). Brian is just so happy ..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvhwt9wpm74 my video of the gig,

Yeah, no surprise there. I've turned both my parents onto TGA.

| My parents like TGA too, not as much as me though. KoL when I saw them were awesome, but they were in an arena, not at a festival, and so there was probably a bit of a difference. |
