| I've browsed this forum a few times and you guys seemed pretty cool so I decided to join up. The Gaslight Anthem has to be my favorite modern band at the moment. Probably the majority of my music collection is from the 70's and 80's (although I'm only 17) but I heard "The 59 Sound" and was blown away. I'm sure you all remember what it was like when you found the band. I wasn't sold but then I heard "I'da Called You Woody, Joe" and knew I would love them. The Clash are probably the only band I like more than Gaslight at the moment.
Anyways, I'm 17 as I said, from Missouri. I hope Gaslight will come near here soon as I'd love to see them live.

| Who are you a big fan of from the 70s/80s? Welcome to the forum, I don't think we have many fans from Mizzou here... | |

Not a big Springsteen fan to be honest, yet I always seem to end up enjoying things compared to him. So maybe I haven't tried hard enough. I've got a Bruce greatest hits CD lying around here somewhere and "The Rising" which I found in a box but never listened to. - e7c wrote:

Welcome to the forum, I don't think we have many fans from Mizzou here... Yeah, I've never met anybody around here who knows who TGA are...other than people I introduced to them. As for other artists I like, I enjoy a lot of singer-songwriter kind of stuff like Dylan, Neil Young, Steve Forbert. Also of course other punk bands like Stiff Little Fingers, Ramones. I'm also a big Talking Heads fan.
